Choir Members Win All Region Competition

The high choral department had 32 students this weekend at All-Region and 9th/10th Grade Honor Choir auditions this weekend . We have twenty-eight who advanced and the results are below:

 

Texas All-State Choir

Sophomores, Montavion McKinney, Samuel Orta, and Marcus Speed will advance to Pre-Area in November. These students placed in the top 10 for their voice part and will also be a part of the All-Region Choir. We also have five students who were selected for the All-District Choir: Senior Keionte Ramsey, Junior Nathaniel Orta, and sophomores Brayla Cook, Byron Hanspard, Jr., and Keith Walker.

 

9th/10th Grade Honor Choir

Christian Berry, Taniea Eaden, Maia Hidrogo, Deaundrea Kidd, Winston Leonard, Courtney Mathis, Jaala Prince, Jalen Quinnie, Raykevian Swanson, Amarr Teague, Zaya Williams, and Armond Young and freshmen,  Kyrah Johnson, Priscilla Madrigal, Ty’ler Martin, Serenity Norton, Bria Randle, Zipporah Richie, Jordan Roberts, and Shalaune Williams were selected for the 9th/10th Grade Honor Choir.

 

All choirs will perform together at the Region 20 Choir Concert, Saturday, November 14, at the Red Oak

High School Performing Arts Center. “We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort of our students,”

Jessie Cannon II, Assistant Choir Director, said. “ Region 20 is a highly competitive district so being selected

for one of the choirs is a great accomplishment. Please congratulate these students when you see them.”
