Top Six Books of 2016

(In no particular order)

It’s a new year, and with a new year comes new books. Plenty of authors such as Kiera Cass, Rick Yancey, and Cassandra Clare, have books that will be released in 2016. Here are just a few that I’m excited for.

  1. The Last Star, Rick Yancey

Perhaps you’ve heard of the new movie 5th Wave, starring Chloë Grace Moretz. The movie is based off the book 5th Wave, which is a science fiction young adult trilogy. The Last Star is the third and final book in the series will be out in May 2016.

  1. The Crown, Kiera Cass

The Selection series is published through HarperTeen and is a young adult series. It was optioned for a TV series, but CW never picked it up. The Crown is the 5th book in the selection series. The first three books follow America Singer as she competes in a competition known as the “Selection.” The Crown is 20 years after “The Selection” and is based on America’s daughter Princess Eadlyn, and now she will be the first princess to hold her own selection. I recently read the first book and fell in love with it, and I’m hoping by the time the last one comes out I’ll have finished all of them.

  1. Lady Midnight, Cassandra Clare.

Cassandra Clare has done it again. There has yet been another series to add to the Shadown Hunter Chronicles, and that’s: Lady Midnight. It’s the first book in The Dark Artifices series, and it will be out in March 2016.

  1. The Shadow Queen, C.J. Redwine

It’s the first book in the Ravenspire series, and it’s a dark fantasy inspired by the popular children’s tale “Snow White”. It follows Lorelaie Diederich and her mission to kill the wicked queen who took her throne and killed her father. It will be out in February 2016.

  1. Morning Star, Pierce Brown

It’s a science fiction novel, and the third book in the Red Rising trilogy. Anyone who liked the Hunger Games and dystopian novels will like this book. It will be out in February 2016.

  1. Girl Against the Universe, Paula Stokes.

Paula Stokes is the author of Liars, Inc. and The Art of Lainey and now she will be publishing her newest novel titled: Girl Against the Universe. Maguire is a girl who always has bad luck, and this novel follows her and a tennis player named Jordy as she tries to get rid of it. It’s a novel about “accepting the past, embracing the future, and learning to make your own luck”.
