Stop Music Stereotypes

Generally as African Americans, we tend to listen to R&B, Hip-Hop, and maybe Jazz. We may occasionally vibe to a pop song with a funky-hip-hop beat, other than that we just turn our heads. I don’t think it should be like that. I feel like there shouldn’t be a stereotype based on what music you choose to listen to. Me, personally, I could listen to trap music one minute and country the next. In all honesty it just depends on my mood.

Point is, black people shouldn’t be given the stink eye just because they want to jam to Carrie Underwood, and white people shouldn’t be ambushed for jamming to Lil Uzi Vert. People should have the freedom to make dance videos, and lip-sync to anything they choose.

As Jimi Hendrix put it “I’m the one that has to die when it’s time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to.”
